Bio
Dave Scott-Morgan, aka Dave Morgan, has a musical history stretching back to the
60's in Birmingham, England, including being part of the groups THE UGLY'S
(guitar) and MAGNUM (bass). His songs brought him wider notice when recorded by
the groups THE MOVE and WISHFUL THINKING. - The song 'HIROSHIMA' was a hit twice
in Europe, reaching a high of No.4 in the German charts in 1991, sung by the
artist SANDRA. In the early 80s, Dave was part of the stage line-up of the group
ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA (guitar, synth, vocoder + back-up vocals). He is
credited as a musician on ELO's album SECRET MESSAGES and later on Jeff Lynne's
ARMCHAIR THEATRE solo album (1990). Dave's long time collaboration with Richard
Tandy (ELO's keyboard player) resulted in the concept album EARTH RISE and the
single BERLIN in the mid 80s and later with guitarist Martin Smith, the charity
single ACTION (produced by Jeff Lynne) and the compilation CD ‘The BC
Collection' (1992).
Life changed completely for Dave in June 1988 when he became a born-again
Christian and began composing inspirational songs. The CALL Compact Disc
released in 1997, includes a track titled GOD'S GOOD TIME, produced by Jeff
Lynne. Two further inspirational CD albums, LONG WAY HOME and ANGEL LIGHT were released in 1999 and 2002
respectively, and for 10 years (until December 2009), Dave was lay pastor at a
free Christian church in South Birmingham. Together with his wife Mandy, Dave
still sings and speaks at churches and Christian concerts both in England and
abroad, as well as the occasional rock’n’roll gig. In 2011, the album EARTHRISE
was remixed and re-released on the ROCK LEGACY label and in 2012, a new
collection of Dave's songs, produced by Martin Smith, were being recorded for
digital release.
